About
Geneva Gordon — known to Houston's nightlife as DJ G-Funk — is a multi-talented DJ, visual artist, professional dancer, and classically trained cellist originally from San Antonio, Texas.
Her path to the decks started young, moving through professional dance and the cello before finding a new home at KPFT's Blues in Hi Fi radio show in 2013. It was there she learned the art of curation — spinning personal records at bars, building an ear for the room, and developing the instinct to match exactly the right song to the right moment.
Today, G gravitates toward disco, boogie, and funk — music with soul, history, and groove. She's a regular face behind the decks at some of Houston's most beloved independent venues: Donna's, Hotel Saint Augustine, Catbird's, Eight Row Flint, Brasserie 19, and more.
